Hermione Granger changed over her six years at Hogwarts (and her seventh on the run) from an “insufferable know-it-all” to a devoted, fierce, and talented young witch. And given that she had often rescued both Harry and Ron from difficult circumstances throughout the years, it is not surprising that she frequently had some advice to impart.

Hermione developed a sizable following with her catchphrases, which ranged from witty one-liners to smart insights. The smartest witch of her generation had some of the most famous quotes from the Harry Potter series, whether she was upholding the law, instructing her friends, or brandishing her wand to intimidate Draco.

“Stop, Stop, Stop! You’re Going To Take Someone’s Eye Out. Besides, You’re Saying It Wrong. It’s Leviosa, Not Leviosar!”

Without a doubt, this memorable Hermione Granger remark will live on in Harry Potter lore. Hermione was initially presented in The Sorcerer’s Stone as the nerdy, muggle-born witch who didn’t waste any time in imparting some knowledge to her pupils.

Hermione’s pronunciation lessons may not have been well received by her companions, but they were undoubtedly helpful a few scenes later during a battle with a mountain troll, where Hermione nearly lost her life. One of the first—though undoubtedly not the last—times Hermione displayed her command of magic and intellectual prowess was in this scene.

“No, Harry. Even In The Wizarding World, Hearing Voices Isn’t A Good Sign.”

In The Chamber of Secrets, Harry naturally seeks reassurance from his two closest friends when he thinks he hears voices. Hermione and Ron are completely unaware of the basilisk concealed inside the school and Harry’s proficiency with parseltongue. Hermione instead counsels Harry not to tell anybody about the voices he is hearing.

“Honestly, Don’t You Two Read?”

Another iconic Hermione moment is this line from The Sorcerer’s Stone. Hermione learns some significant information about Nicolas Flamel, a man Harry and Ron had obviously never read about when the group is looking for information about the Stone.

This is just one of many instances where the lads can thank Hermione for learning the crucial information that finally helped them succeed. How long Harry would have lasted at Hogwarts without Hermione’s knowledge and meticulous attention to detail has been a topic of much speculation among fans.
