This year’s Met Gala featured a lot of celebrities dressed in a variety of gowns. However, in yet another fashion battle, we present Blake Lively and Camilla Cabello’s classic white gowns.
Aside from the surprise proposal on the red carpet, Blake’s Versace gown undoubtedly stole the show, and for more than one reason. Yes, you read that correctly, the 34-year-old actor’s dress changed color. When she first walked up the historic Met Ball steps with Ryan Reynolds, her costume appeared to be rose and copper tones. However, after the back bow was undone, the pattern morphed into a completely different garment, with blue and copper tones that were thought to resemble the Statue of Liberty’s oxidation over these decades. This dress was a tribute to Hollywood designers of all times.
Camila Cabello wore an all-white two-piece ensemble with vibrant flower accents to the Met Gala in 2022. Prabal Gurung’s gown had high-collar, strappy details across the chest and waist, and a big bustle reminiscent of the Gilded Age, which is the theme of the Met Gala. She accessorized with lovely dazzling earrings and put similar blooms in her hair, which she kept swept up. The best element of her outfit, though, was the construction. “I just thought of how ironic it is,” she remarked, referring to the period’s excessive consumerism and grandiosity. “All of that has led to the current climate disaster.” To that aim, she’s wearing upcycled and sustainable clothing tonight.
So what do you think about their dresses? Which one do you like the most and why? Let us know in the comments below.
