Queen, directed by Vikas Bahl is a comedy-drama with Kangana starring as the lead role. The story revolves around the main lead, Rani who leaves for her honeymoon on her own when her fiancé declines to marry her on their wedding day.
2) Pink:
Pink is a legal thriller drama, directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhuri. It is a courtroom story that surrounds three girls along with their lawyer who fights to get justice against the rich boy who tries to assault them.
3) The Dirty Picture:
This movie, directed by Milan Luthria, was loosely based on the true story of the South star Silk Smitha. The movie was appreciated for showing women as powerful in a male-oriented society. Vidhya Balan starred as the main lead and did a great job with her role.
4) English Vinglish:
Sri Devi acted in this movie after her long break from acting. This comedy-drama revolves around a married, disregarded by her children and her husband, who decides to get out and live her life. She takes to learning English to show them how capable she is. The movie was directed by Gauri Shinde and was a huge commercial success.
5) Raazi:
This spy thriller drama, directed by Meghna Gulzar is an adaptation of the novel Calling Sehmant by Harinder Sikka. The story revolves around the true story of a RAW agent. Alia Bhat played the main role.
