Motherhood is a special experience in life, a special bond that lasts forever… And these actresses didn’t want to miss out on it a bit. After the birth of their child, these Bollywood mamas took a sabbatical to enjoy motherhood with their bundles of joy! Here is a list of 5 Bollywood divas who took a break from their acting careers!
1) Madhuri Dixit Nene:
Madhuri Dixit Nene had moved to the US with her husband Dr. Shriram Madhav Nene back in 1999 but she still worked on the film at the time. After her kids, Arin(2003) and Raayan(2005) were born, the actress decided to take a break from her acting career. Now, after a decade of living in the US, she moved back to Mumbai with her family in 2011 and has been busy with dance shows and movies.
2) Sridevi:
This Bollywood mama married her husband, Boney Kapoor during the peak of her career in 1996. After she gave birth to her daughters Jahnvi(1997), and Khushi (2000) she took a 15-year long break from Bollywood to spend time with her family. After her movie Judaai, the actress made her comeback with English Vinglish, years later.
3) Kajol:
Kajol and Ajay Devgan tied the knot back in 1999. After the actress gave birth to their firstborn, Nysa in 2003, the diva took a three years break before she returned with the 2006 movie Fanaa. She took some time off again when her son Yug (2010) was born. She made a comeback 5 years later with Dilwale (2015).
4) Aishwarya Rai Bachchan:
Aishwarya Rai and Abishek Bachchan got hitched back in 2007. The actress continued to work for the next three years till 2010 her last movie being Guzaarish. After the movie, the actress gave birth to her daughter, Aaradhya in 2011. She took a break for four years till she made a comeback in 2015 with Jazba!
5) Karisma Kapoor:
Karisma Kapoor took a break in 2004 after she married Sanjay Kapoor in 2003. She had her daughter, Samaira in 2005 and her son Kiaan in 2010. Two years after Kiaan was born, the actress decided to return to Bollywood with her movie Dangerous Ishhq (2012).
