On April 23, 1995, Yolanda Hadid and Mohamed Hadid welcomed Gigi Hadid into the world in Los Angeles, California. She began modelling when she was young. Just two years old after Paul Marciano of Guess discovered her. She started with Baby Guess, then she stopped to focus on school, but she eventually returned and continued working with them. In 2011, she appeared as Andrea in the short film Virgin Eyes, which served as her acting debut. She is most known for being a model for Sports Illustrated and for frequently appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (2010) since 2012.
In response to criticism that she appeared too thin during her New York Fashion Week presentations, Gigi Hadid has addressed the issue. In a lengthy Twitter thread on Sunday, the model disclosed that she has Hashimoto’s Disease, an autoimmune ailment that has damaged her weight. Gigi used the social media platform to share the message with her 8.5 million followers, writing: “For those of you so determined to figure out why my body has altered over time, you might not be aware that when I started at age 17, I had not yet been diagnosed with /disease; Hashimoto’s those of u who called me “too big for the industry” were seeing inflammation & water retention due to that.”
Gigi proceeded by stating that she has been given medication for the past few years to aid with symptoms including excessive weariness, problems with her metabolism, and a body’s capacity to retain heat. Although extreme stress and travel can also influence the body, she said, “Although I may be “too skinny” for you—truthfully, this level of thinness isn’t what I would like to be—I feel healthier on the inside, and, like everyone else, I continue to learn and develop with my body on a daily basis.”
