“Going Back Is Not In My DNA”, Shatrughan Sinha Clears The Air

In conversation with Shatrughan Sinha

An innocuous tweet in defence of PM Modi’s government had tongues wagging in the power corridors.A friend from the ruling party ribbed me, “Your friend Shatruda is coming back . Laut ke buddhu ghar ko aaye.”

“Buddhu woh jo yeh samjha ke main wapas aa raha hoon(anyone who things I’m getting back to the BJP is a fool). Once I make up my mind nothing can make me change it. This silly rumour started when I tweeted something quite innocent about our beloved Prime Minister.Logon ne baal ki khaal nikalni shuroo kar di,” laughs Shatruji heartily.

“Aise kaise laut jaoonga? I am committed to the Congress now. That’s where I will remain.Jeena yahan marn yahan isske siva jaana kahan?”

The Covid lockdown has been an eyeopener for Shatruji. “More than an eyeopener it is a mind-opener.It has shown me the value of the family. Though family-time too must be restricted. You can’t be together all the time just because you have the opportunity to do so. Everyone needs his or her own space. For the first time in years I’ve had time to retrospect.”
