We have a thing with K-dramas, and for good cause. This kind of entertainment has progressed far beyond just entertaining people with movies and television shows. K-dramas have very well become a global phenomenon, as Squid Game just showed, with their effect on cuisine, music, and notably fashion.
We’ve put up a list of 3 Korean dramas that were available on Netflix in November and December 2021, whether you’re a die-hard K-drama lover or a pop culture expert wanting to learn and explore. Have fun watching.
1. Hellbound
Squid Game demonstrates that K-dramas are more than just rom-coms. Hellbound, a Korean drama series, is set in the thriller, drama, and fantasy genres. The highly anticipated drama is set in a world that has been overtaken by a supernatural phenomenon, which has resulted in the world being a literal hell. This fantasy thriller, based on the webtoon The Hellbound, has revealed a realm of turmoil and mayhem. Make sure to add this to your Netflix ‘My List’ if you appreciate dystopian and supernatural stuff.
2. The Hungry and the Hairy
Another reality program has arrived. The Hungry and the Hairy is a Korean travel reality program starring South Korean singer-songwriter Jeong ‘Rain’ Ji-Hoon and comedian Ro Hong-Chul. The two prominent celebrities set off on a motorcycle road trip of a lifetime, stopping at delicious restaurants and introducing tourists to the sights of Korea. Foodies and travelers will enjoy this unscripted series.
3. The Silent Sea
If you prefer science fiction, thrillers, and mysteries, this is the program for you. The Silent Sea, K-drama, is based on Choi Hang-yong’s 2014 short film The Sea of Tranquility. This eight-episode series, set in a post-apocalyptic age, depicts how members of a trained team are dispatched to outer space to rescue a sample from an abandoned research station on the moon.
