Here’s What Happened During BTS V’s Demo Of “Spring Day”

The song was created in this manner.

BTS’s V recently spoke with Weverse Magazine and discussed a variety of topics, including his GRAMMYs performance and his actual personality. Most recently, attention was drawn to V’s magnificent voice and distinctive melody in his demo version of “Spring Day,” which was included on BTS’s anthology album PROOF. He disclosed every detail about the demo, such as its creation date and other information. He admits that even though he has been composing songs for a while, the tune was actually written rather early in his songwriting career.

It has been around two or three years [since I started writing songs]. But I tend to only write when I’m feeling it, so at the time I was making one song every five months to a year. — V

He revealed that the song is very different from what listeners currently recognize as the finished version of “Spring Day.” Despite this, V’s demo retains its own beauty and reveals a vulnerable side of him that fans adore and frequently hear in his solo work.

‘Spring Day’ was basically our first pop ballad, so I thought I could write it. And I really wrote a lot. The producers I was working with all said they liked it, and the label really liked it, too, and even said something playful, like, Yeah, we’re probably going to use yours … but it fell out of the running the following day. (laughs) — V

V considered the ways in which the song’s demo and his own personal musical taste are similar and dissimilar. The song exhibits the distinctive “gravity” of his music even if it is joyful. V’s stunning demo, which was ultimately not used, has its own hue on BTS’s anthology album PROOF.
