Karan Johar and actor John Abraham have worked on several projects, including films like Kaal and Dostana. However, there was a moment when filmmaker Karan felt John Abraham was not made for Bollywood.
While John Abraham, in his first appearance on the Koffee With Karan, opened up about Karan’s offer of a tiny role in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham in 2001. Karan offered him the role of Kareena’s friend Robby, who was later turned down.
Karan Johar, in his explanation, said, “I thought you (John) would be great on the ramp and not on the screen, so when you came to me, ‘I said you should weigh your options and do other stuff.'”
John revealed that at that moment, he used to take suggestions from Karan regarding his career, “I used to come to Karan for a lot of advice, then Karan said ‘I have got a great role for you in K3G which I want to offer you, of Robby. So I was looking out for Robby in the movie, ‘where’s robby, where’s robby,’ I couldn’t see Robby.”
However, the show host Karan Johar asked pardon and said, “Well done, and I am sorry about that. I never thought you would reach this stage.”
On the work front, John Abraham is busy in promotions of his upcoming thriller, Ek Villian Returns, in which he is sharing space with Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria.
