The film that everyone is talking about has created a lot of buzz socially and politically – THE KASHMIR FILES. Vivek Agnihotri has brought back one dark chapter from our history and depicted it in a cruelly beautiful way. The genocide of Kashmir pandits took place in the year 1990 when they started leaving in a greater number due to persecution and threats by radical Islamists and militants. More than 400,000 were forced out of the valley homeless and more than 4000 were killed following the crime against women and children. Neither the state nor the central government did anything to ensure the safety of Kashmiri pandits.
The Mainstream media did nothing at all while all the suffering was happening. In watching the film, one can see a terrorist involved- inspired by JKLF members Farooq Ahmed Dar and Yasin Malik. Farooq Abdullah then CM had resigned on the 18th of January, 1990, a day before the genocide, whose role is played by Chinmay Mandlekar confessed on camera that he is behind the killing of 20 Kashmiri Pandits during the 1990s. The film openly showed the truth about JNU and the Rajiv Gandhi-led government. PM Narendra Modi has praised the movie and also a few states have made the movie tax-free so that a maximum number of people can watch the movie. The movie is not any movie that Bollywood has made but truly conveyed what had happened and lets the truth out.
