Akkineni Nagarjuna, the Tollywood superstar, won the hearts of many fans with his numerous hit movies like Manam, Siva, Boss, and many more. The actor has been in the industry for almost 2 decades. He has made quite an impact in the Telugu film industry! Here are some lesser-known facts about the superstars.

The actor married Lakshmi Daggubati back in 1984 and the couple divorced in 1984. The actor has a son, Naga Chaitanya with his first wife who is also one of the top actors of the industry. The actor later married the actress and co-star, Amala; their son is Akkineni Akhil.

The actor started his journey to stardom at a crip age. He was a child artist and made his first appearance in the movie, Sudigundalu back in 1968. Later in 1986, he made his debut with the lead role in the movie, Vikram.

He has worked in almost 90 films to date. He has also made appearances in Hindi and Tamil movies.

The actor also dabbled in the Television industry; first with the tele-series Yuva, and then as a television producer. He even collaborated with Big B, Amitabh Bachchan when he hosted the Telugu version of Kaun Banega Crorepati called Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu.

The actor last appeared in the movie, Manam with his father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao in 2014. It was an immediate hit. This Vikram Kumar movie also starred his sons, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya. His father passed away on the 22nd of January 2014.

The actor has his hands in a lot of charity work as well. His wife Amala and him are the co-founders of the NGO Blue Cross Hyderabad. The actor has also taken over some welfare programs like MAA TV. He is also the brand ambassador of HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns. He was in an HIV/AIDS animated tutorial software made by TeachAID.
