Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii fame Manasi Varma who was last seen in Private Investigator on Star Plus, has gotten into the nuances of voiceovers, with regular dubbing assignments.
Says Manasi, “I started dubbing a few years ago when a television project of mine had gone off air and I was doing anchoring for live events. I got intrigued by this field and wanted to try it for myself too. Many people have come up to me saying that my voice, diction and my command over the language is really good. This prompted me to look into dubbing as a field to work.”
“My first dubbing project was with UTV movies. I have been part of all their Hollywood projects that have been dubbed in Hindi for TV,” says Manasi.
“Being an actor already really helped since I already knew voice acting and getting the emotions right for the scene. So I directly started with primary and lead roles and I did the film Anaconda where I dubbed for Jennifer Lopez’s voice, followed by the film called Final Destination where again I was one of the primary characters in the ensemble cast.”
“I have been working with the production company Blue Whale for some time now. They are primarily into doing a lot of work with Discovery and TLC channels. Currently, I have dubbed a show called Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines. It is a cookery show, the show is currently on air on TLC. I have dubbed in Hindi for Joanna Gaines.”
Manasi will want to try her luck as an actor on the OTT platform. “TV is not challenging me as an actor anymore. I am looking at doing shows for the OTT platform.”
