Sanjay Dutt has quite a number of releases lined up this year. He was seen in ‘Kalank’, where he had a very important role. Although the film didn’t do as well as he would have liked it to, he is looking forward to compensate for it with his Marathi production, ‘Baba’. After watching the special screening of the film along with his family and the entire team, Sanju Baba got a little nostalgic at the end of the film. It is to be noted that Bollywood’s ‘Baba’ shared a very deep relation with his own ‘Baba’, i.e. the late Sunil Dutt, who passed away in the year 2005. Sanjay had revealed many times that he looked upto his father as a source of inspiration and he cannot forget his contribution in getting back on the right path of life, away from all addictions. The actor was seen teary-eyed and was remembering his late father after the screening.
Talking about the film, Sanjay Dutt was quoted as saying,
“I had not thought about the film when I had posted about my father on social media. For all the kids, the father’s importance is always high. The film’s name was suggested by the director of the film and I am pleasantly surprised by the title of the film. we are not just restricted to content-driven films, yes content is very important but also entertainers are very important”.
To throw more light on the film, but this time from the perspective of a producer, Sanjay added,
“In regional and mainstream, we will make all kinds of films, content-driven as well as entertaining. Content is very important but we are not restricted to it and at the same time entertainer cinema is what audiences’ want to watch. So we will make that kind of Cinema as well”.
Over the years, Sanjay Dutt has treated the audience to characters that have gone ahead to resonate and strike a chord with the viewers. Also, his strong screen presence is something that separates him from most of his contemporaries. The ‘baba’ style of walking and talking is a rage within the audience and he is looking good to bring the viewers and fans back into that zone as he has quite a number of releases lined up forward — the likes of Shamshera, Panipat, Bhuj: The Pride of India, Prasthanam and Sadak 2.
Here’s wishing Bollywood’s beloved ‘Baba’ all the best for ‘Baba’ and his future projects.
