He came, he saw, he conquered and his reign continues. Every decade or two there are success stories in our industry which get everyone inspired and people look upto them for their phenomenal journey to stardom. Shah Rukh Khan is a story that everyone knows about, a complete outsider who took the reins of Bollywood in his hands. And in today’s generation it is Kartik Aaryan who’s completely writing a success story on his own with his acting caliber and hardwork.
A Gwalior boy, who struggled a lot, got a break, continued to work hard and finally achieved the stardom he always desired to. Today on his birthday we look at his journey at the movies. Kartik Aaryan who made his debut as the monologue-boy has given some amazing performances in the past few years and proved his acting caliber. He’s not just your bromantic hero, he went on and proved that he can play a true-Bollywood romantic hero and then he can play a romantic hero with a twist. He has shown his versatility as an actor and we love this hunk for his phenomenal growth on the big screen.
Pyaar Ka Punchnama series (2011 and 2015)
This fun romcom is all about three boys and why they go through in a relationship in today’s time and age. While there are several issues this film tries to portray in the film in a fun way from a man’s point of view, but to sum up the entire film… Kartik Aaryan’s monologue is more than enough. In both the installments, Kartik Aaryan delivers a monologue which is no mean feat for a young actor to do it so well and nail it perfectly. In his first film itself PKP (2011) Kartik Aaryan showed everyone that he’s here to stay and he just carried on the fun film forward with PKP 2 (2015) and surprised us even more.
Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018)
Kartik Aaryan got the tag of India’s first bromantic hero with the super-success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. The actor plays the role of Sonu who’s over-cautious about his friend’s sly girlfriend. He pulls out all stops to make sure that his best friend doesn’t get married to the wrong girl. SKTKS could have been like any other romcom, but Aaryan’s fabulous performance made sure it’s different, fun and rewatchable. Kartik proved with this film that he can do comedy, drama and handle loads of emotions and get people rooting for him.
Luka Chuppi (2019)
Kartik Aaryan is always seen as playing the urban boy who falls in love but in this one he decides to play a small-town reporter Guddu Shukla who falls head over heels for a girl and finally decides to even go in for a live-in relationship. The film is about a couple and the modern challenges set against them, Kartik’s brilliant performance makes this movie a family-entertainer. From the first frame itself he makes everyone fall for Guddu and believe in his character. Infact you even laugh and feel for him when he leaves his joint family and an emotional track plays in the background from Hum Aapke Hain Koun. His take on marriages and relationships strikes a chord with the masses and we love this boy to knowing the pulse of the audience.
Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019)
You know of Kartik Aaryan as the boy with stylish hairstyle and uber-cool fashion sense. But the actor was ready to shed his cool image for the remake of this classic film. Kartik Aaryan as Chintu Tyagi surprised everyone. Sporting a moustache and seen in basic formal clothes, Aaryan yet again got everyone sit back and take notice of his versatility. His attempts to taste the forbidden apple in marriage made audiences laugh and his guilt-act towards the end got the critics lauding for him. Every film of the actor is a romcom, but Kartik makes sure to portray his versatility and show his character’s vulnerable side too. That’s what we love about him.
Love Aaj Kal (2020)
Now there were many firsts about this one. His first double-role, his first Imtiaz Ali film and his first true-blue romantic hero avatar. Kartik Aaryan had to portray two characters in one single film. While he played the innocent Raghu from the ‘90s who has a monster-crush over this girl from his school. He played the awkward Veer who’s in love which is not just lust for him. What’s more his character of Raghu had further different shades in and show his journey from being a diehard lover to someone who gets carried away by the city life and the temptations thrown in. Kartik Aaryan’s performance in both the roles was exceptionally commendable. While as Veer he truly showed that he can play complex characters, as Raghu he shocked the audiences that he’s not your normal romcom hero who’s only here to make you laugh. LAK is surely a turning point in his career as the actor proved that he is here to act and entertain the masses and he can do any role thrown at him.
Take a bow Kartik Aaryan. You deserve this one!
