As the year comes to a close and the holidays approach, it’s the ideal time to curl up by the fireplace and binge-watch K-dramas. If you haven’t been keeping up with the K-dramas that have been published in the previous few months, this section is ideal for recommending a handful that could be of interest to you. You can also read part one of my choices from the first half of K-dramas that aired this year. Here are several K-dramas to add to your list!
1. Angel’s Final Mission: Love
“Angel’s Last Mission: Love” was a treasure and delightful surprise in 2019, not only because of Shin Hye Sun’s superb acting talents and the aesthetics of INFINITE’s L but also because of its unusual plot featuring an angel who is stuck on Earth.
The series was moving on many levels, but it was especially gratifying to witness Shin Hye Sun go from a callous and furious lady with broken hopes into a compassionate and caring individual. Her metamorphosis and love tale with the angel is about healing and how the power of love can transcend so many difficulties in life. They had incredible chemistry, which was inspiring to behold.
2. Del Luna Hotel
“Hotel Del Luna,” starring two megastars, IU and Yeo Jin Goo, was a widely anticipated K-drama. The series was also written by the Hong sisters, which offered fans another reason to be enthusiastic because they’ve authored a number of great K-dramas in the past. In “Hotel Del Luna,” IU plays Jang Man Wol, the CEO of a hotel that welcomes ghosts as guests. Yeo Jin Goo plays Goo Chan Sung, an assistant manager whose father promised him a job at the hotel.
3. You are extraordinary.
“Extraordinary You” is an MBC K-drama based on the popular webcomic created by Moo Ryoo, In Ji Hye, and Song Ha Young. This series immerses viewers in the world of comic books and what it would be like for the characters to find that they are characters trapped in a comic book, powerless against the writer’s desire.
