‘No one watches those movies for Ranveer…’ Check out how netizens reacted to Deepika Padukone’s reported sacking from ‘Baiju Bawra’

Deepika Padukone has been counted out from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Baiju Bawra’ for requesting equal pay in comparison to Ranveer Singh. The actress was supposed to play the love interest of Ranveer Singh in the film.

Quoting from a report by Bollywood Hungama, the Free press Journal stated, “Apparently, Deepika wants the same remuneration as her husband. Not a penny more, not a penny less.”

After Deepika’s request for the same was turned down, the news triggered the debacle of sexism in Bollywood and the directors were criticised for how they have been practising pay disparity based on gender.

And soon then the questions turned to Ranveer Singh, and netizens tweeted how the actor should stand for his wife and resign from the film. One of the users wrote, If this is true, it’s crazy she wasn’t being paid more than him in the first place. Let’s be real, no one watches those movies for Ranveer.”
