In Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Henry Cavill and Tom Cruise form one of the finest action picture pairings ever. Ethan Hunt, a senior field agent with the Impossible Mission Force, could not have asked for a better companion than Superman. Naturally, the Man of Steel’s terrifying stature of 6’1″ made everybody in the cast appear smaller, notably the main character himself, who is only 5’9″. However, special effects did an excellent job of concealing the height disparity.

Cavill’s costume-breaking, musclebound figure, combined with a bushy mustache — which Warner Bros. spent $25 million to CGI out for Justice League — made him the ideal option for the character of CIA Agent August Walker. Hunt and the IMF’s classic espionage provided a wonderful contrast to this brute force of a character. When you see that interaction on film, you have to wonder how connected the actors are in real life. What we know about their relationship is as follows.

Cavill claims that Cruise encouraged him to execute the majority of his own stunts in Netflix’s The Witcher. During Variety’s Actors on Actors, he told Patrick Stewart, “When it comes to stunts, I’ve always enjoyed performing the physical things.” “Working with Tom Cruise aided — or, in the opinion of the producers, harmed — my enthusiasm for stunts. I’m extremely excited to do them now, and I believe they’re an important part of the character.” The Batman v Superman actor was discussing his prep for his part as Geralt of Rivia with the Star Trek actor.

Except for the incredible HALO jump, he accomplished most of his stunts in Fallout. Cruise reportedly denied allowing him to do so. “For me, this is one of the saddest stories in the film,” Cavill added. “‘I’m wearing a parachute, I’ve had some wind tunnel (training), surely I can just jump?’ I begged Tom on the day. ‘Henry, I know exactly how you feel,’ he added. I understand you’ve done every stunt in the movie so far, but I can’t let you do this one. It necessitates specialized training.'”
