Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, who married on December 9 at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, posted more photos from their pre-wedding festivities on Instagram today. Needless to say, the pair looked stunning in ensembles made by acclaimed fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Katrina’s saree was created by 40 artists over 75 days.
The specifications of Vicky and Katrina’s colour-coordinated ensembles have been posted on Sabyasachi’s official Instagram site. Katrina wore a pastel-pink floral saree to the pre-wedding celebrations to honour her mother’s British background. Sabyasachi designed Katrina’s vintage-inspired couture saree with a trailing veil, which was created by 40 workers over 1800 hours. That equates to 75 days. Yes, you read that correctly! The saree took a lot of time and work to create, and the end product is just lovely.
The pastel tulle saree was silhouetted to seem like a white bridal gown and was decorated with hand-cut English flowers. Bengali craftswomen stitched these flowery patterns. Katrina’s saree was also adorned with semi-precious jewels and crystals.
Katrina accessorised her look with a dramatic uncut diamond necklace set with opals and light Russian emeralds. She paired it with matching earrings from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery.
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal wore a pastel-coloured sherwani fashioned by the famed fashion designer himself.
