Prince of Bollywood Ranbir Kapoor has come a long way from being the boy-next-door in the industry.
With his debut movie Saawariya in 2007, the actor had all the girls instantly swooning the moment he appeared on the big screen. While the film did only decent on the box office, his iconic towel drop moment is still fresh in the minds of many.
Coming from a filmy family, the actor had a lot of expectations on his shoulders and he certainly did not disappoint. A career spanning over a decade, he definitely had his successes and duds at the box office, however he still remains one of the most sought after actor in the industry.
His debut movie was followed by Wake up! Sid, a coming of age film that showed us that the actor was here to stay. This was followed by Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani and later Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year. Though it was the political drama Raajneeti in 2010 that allowed people to sit up and take note of him as a serious actor.
It was in 2011 that the actor started experimenting with his roles and taking risks. ‘Rockstar’ saw him change from a sweet, charming boy to a mature, complicated man who could take on any role and do it justice. His performance in the movie received critical acclaim and he was widely praised.
One more performance worth noting was his role as a deaf and mute man in Barfi! It was both a commercial as well as critical success.
The actor is now gearing up for a couple of big releases in the upcoming years with projects like Brahmastra and Shamshera. We’re sure Ranbir will continue to entertain us for many more years to come.
