In the past two decades, the Bollywood film industry has produced one after another movie based on sports and athletes, like Lagaan (2001), Chak De! India (2007), Mary Kom (2014), M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), Sultan (2016), Dangal (2016), and now, ‘83’. The movie was supposed to be released in the last month, but got postponed due to the pandemic, and now it is expected to be released on August 15, 2020. The movie, ‘83’ is directed by Kabir Khan. This is the most awaited film of this year. The film stars the finest actors and actresses of Bollywood like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Dhairya Karwa, Hardy Sandhu, and many more as it’s cast. The entire plot is based on the first-ever cricket World Cup victory of India. It takes us back to the 1983 days when Indians struggled and gave their best on the field to bring the cup to their home.

But, before hitting the theatres in August to watch the film, you should know who is playing which character. People are excited to see Ranveer and Deepika again on the screen as a couple. On the other hand, people are also waiting to see Hardy Sandhu, who is well-known for his super hit songs, on the screen. Although, Reliance Entertainment, who is co-producing the film released the first look of the film in January 2020, you guys need to know a bit more about their roles.

Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev: Ranveer Singh will appear as Kapil Dev in the film. Kapil Dev is the former Indian cricketer, and the captain of the 1983 World Cup squad. He became the first-ever Indian captain to make his team win the World Cup.

Deepika Padukone as Romi Dev: Deepika Padukone will be seen as Romi Dev, the wife of Kapil Dev in the film. Romi Dev has played a great role in Kapil’s life ever since they got married in 1980. Fans would love to see her again with Ranveer. Also, she is one of the producers of the film.

Hardy Sandhu as Madan Lal: Hardy Sandhu will be playing the role of Madan Lal, the former Indian cricketer and a member of the 1983 Indian cricket squad. He was a great bowler, who helped Kapil in catching Vivian Richards’s ball in the final match. He played a great role as a bowler.
