Every production company hopes that their films will succeed in many markets throughout the world, and one of the finest ways to do this is to have them dubbed in the local tongues of those places.
Marvel Studios has undoubtedly amassed a sizable fan base in India and wants to capitalize on this in any way possible to draw in a growing number of viewers. This includes hiring well-known celebrities to provide voiceovers for the Hindi versions of the films.
Here are five Hindi-dubbed Bollywood actors who played well-known Marvel movie characters:
Spider-Man is Tiger Shroff
Tiger Shroff, a devoted follower of the Spider-Man series, jumped at the opportunity when asked to do the voice of a youthful, high school Peter Parker.
Deadpool is Ranveer Singh
In Deadpool 2, Ranveer Singh played the Hindi version of Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson persona, bringing his eccentricity to the role.
Steve Rogers is Varun Dhawan
Varun Dhawan wasn’t well-received for his work in Captain America: Civil War and his choice to voice Captain Rogers seemed rather dubious, especially given experienced dubbing actor Sanket Mhatre was already doing such an excellent job.
Thor is Gaurav Chopra
The loud voice of Indian television actor Gaurav Chopra, among other things, made him the ideal choice to impersonate Chris Hemsworth’s ‘God of Thunder’
Rajesh Khattar, who is well known for providing the voices for some of the most recognizable cinematic characters, including Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, Magneto in The X-Men, and Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider, was excellent as Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame.
