Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are serving huge friendship goals! During a recent interview, the Jungle Cruise co-stars opened up about their fantastic rapport and insights about their beginning activities. Blunt, 38, also revealed the origin of her amusing moniker for Johnson, which has a strange backstory. While the rest of the world recognizes him as The Rock, Blunt simply refers to him as “Toots.”
Dwayne told ET, “It’s an old moniker,” while Emily added, “It’s been around for over three years now.” Blunt enjoys calling him “really, sort of lovely, cute things,” according to the pair. “Like he messages me, ‘Alright, I’m leaving now, I’ll see you on set,’ and I’m like, ‘Ok sweetie,'” she continued. The co-stars of the Jungle Cruise also reminisced about their first meeting.
The two “instantly bonded” in their first meeting, according to Dwayne. “When you meet someone and are familiar with their work, you never know what to expect, and I had seen all of Emily’s films. She hadn’t seen any of mine before, so everything worked out wonderfully”, he explained. “We knew we had something when we got together,” he continued.
