Scarlett Johansson’s best-kept beauty secret will transform your look. Furthermore, guess what? It’ll only set you back $11.

During an exclusive interview with Who What Wear, the Black Widow star revealed a peek into her daily beauty routine. When the busy actress needs to get ready quickly, she keeps a drugstore mascara in her purse as a “quick, out-the-door” essential. Max Factor’s Masterpiece Mascara is the mascara in question, and the name says it all.

Scarlett learned a startlingly fantastic beauty tip from makeup artist Pat McGrath (who also happens to be the creator of our fave highlighters for deeper skin tones): Many well-known premium mascaras contain twinning formulae and are produced in the same facility as Max Factor. Scarlett told WWW, “If you use any Max Factor mascara, it’s the same as all of those super-expensive ones.” “As a result, I now use Max Factor mascaras. ‘What?!’ I exclaimed.” She also carries a Givenchy Instant Light Corrective Pen with her at all times. “It’s fantastic for everywhere,” she remarked, “and it provides a really good corrective cover.”

Scarlett uses only five simple skincare products, including the latest from her own beauty line The Outset, when she isn’t wearing makeup. “In fact, I’ve always found that when I go back to the basics — just washing, priming, and moisturising my skin — it’s at its finest,” she told the website.

She uses The Outset’s micellar antioxidant cleanser in the morning and evening, followed by the firming vegan collagen serum and squalane moisturiser (plus an upcoming lip treatment she teased to WWW). “I normally apply A+D Ointment to my cuticles, in and around my nose – I’m quite dry — and that’s it!… Basically, it’s just slathering moisturiser on my face.”
