Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t unfortunately had the best of outings at the box office in the last few years. His movies ‘Fan’ ‘Raees’ and ‘Zero’ all three have failed miserably at the movies and even die-hard fans of Shah Rukh Khan couldn’t stop the movie from failing.
Since then Shah Rukh has shown his disappointment time and again about his movies failing and has expressed that he isn’t emotionally in a state to work on a movie soon. However reports kept coming in time and again that possible collaborations are happening with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Madhur Bhandarkar. However without denying them entirely, Shah Rukh had mentioned that although he has some interesting scripts with him which he has been reading, he is yet to take a final call. He has only been involved into production. Be it ‘Badla’ or his new web series production with Aahana Kumra, he is only into production.
And now as per the latest reports, Baadshah of Bollywood has acquired the rights for a Spanish show named ‘Money Heist’ which is currently running in its 3rdseason. After SRK was introduced to the team by one of his partners, he had the gut feeling that the same might be adapted and can work in the context of the Indian audience.
Money Heist revolves around a mysterious man who calls himself “The Professor” and recruits eight criminals. In an abandoned house, he trains them for five months to steal billions of Euros from a bank. The team is given the task to grab not the money in the vault but lock themselves in the bank with the hostages for 11 days and print the money. The Professor monitors the proceedings from outside, manipulating and misleading the police.
We wish SRK all the best for this one and it will be interesting to see how Shah Rukh Khan adapts it into the Indian context and makes it interesting.
