However, while she debuted with Boom in 2003, in Bollywood, the following year, she debuted with her Telugu film, Malliswari, playing the leading lady. However, not many know that she took a remuneration of Rs 70 lakh to essay the role.
Katrina told in an interview, said, “I was doing a lot of ads and was always a bigger size than most models. If most models are a UK size eight, I was always a UK size 10 or 12. In South India, they liked that. (Laughs) I was wearing a tight dress and I was around a size 12, and it became a point of discussion because I looked curvy. So I got lots of calls. They offered me the highest amount ever paid to any Hindi actor, and I hadn’t even done a Hindi film till then.” as quoted in ETimes
