Chaturvedi was born in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, on April 29, 1993, and migrated to Mumbai when he was five years old. His mother is a homemaker and his father is a chartered accountant. He studied at Mumbai’s Narsee Monjee College and intended to be a chartered accountant (CA) while also performing in theatre as a passion. He got disillusioned with his CA articleship and took some time off, during which he competed in and won The Times of India’s Fresh Face Contest in 2013.

At an Inside Edge triumph party, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, whose brother Farhan Akhtar produced the show, noticed Chaturvedi and invited him to apply for her upcoming directorial Gully Boy, which was his feature debut and proved to be his breakout role. Chaturvedi played the supporting role of MC Sher, a street rapper who drives the desires of Ranveer Singh’s titular character, in the film starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Variety’s Jay Weissberg praised Chaturvedi’s “excellent” performance, while Rajeev Masand praised his “charming presence.” He accepted the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor, as well as a nomination for Best Male Debut, at the annual Filmfare Awards ceremony.

Chaturvedi co-starred with Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, and Sharvari Wagh in Yash Raj Films’ Bunty Aur Babli 2, a sequel to the criminal comedy Bunty Aur Babli (2005). He also acted in Shakun Batra’s love drama Gehraiyaan, in which he co-stars with Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday in the lead part. He began filming for the horror-comedy Phone Bhoot starring Katrina Kaif and Ishaan Khatter on December 12, 2020.

Siddhant Chaturvedi is going to appear in Ravi Udyawar’s forthcoming romantic-action-thriller Yudhra. Malavika Mohanan and Raghav Juyal also star in the film. In Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, he will star with Ananya Panday and Adarsh Gourav and is set to hit theatres in 2023.
