Sonam appeared in several Punjabi films. She made her acting debut in 2013 in Best of Luck, a Punjabi film. She has won PTC Punjabi film awards for best actress in 2020 for her work in Ardab Mutiyaraan.

Here are her 5 characters that made her fans fall in love with her work:

1. Jeeti from ‘Punjab 1984’

She played a simple village girl role. Her role was to portray a shy girl who can’t confess her love to Diljit. But both the characters knew they loved each other, it was clearly visible in their eyes. She wasn’t the main character, as the movie revolves around Diljit and his transitioning phase.

2. Kash in ‘Guddiyan Patole’

Kash was a bold and independent character. She was a rough and tough character who doesn’t express her feelings freely. She had her own personality traits just like other films describe the character of a male protagonist.

3. Taaro in ‘Muklawa’

She again played a simple village girl. She was a typical Indian daughter but a very loving and notorious sibling. She had the courage to take a stand for her love.

4. Babbu Bains in ‘Ardab Mutiyaraan’

This is one of her boldest roles. This was such a desi character who is independent, honest, and fearless. This was a perfect example of a feminist.

5. Raunak in ‘Puaada’

In this role, she plays the role of a well-educated girl. The makers revealed that “We wanted a strong female lead who could challenge the male hero and also to have an urban and desi appeal. Sonam fits that perfectly as she’s one of the most versatile female actors in Punjab.”
