Tamannaah Bhatia, a South actress, believes that picking a role in a thriller may always be advantageous for an actor because the genre has a high binge quotient.
Tamannaah made her digital debut this year in April with the Telugu online series “11th Hour,” a criminal thriller starring Adith Arun and Vamsi Krishna. In May, she returned to the OTT sector with the Tamil whodunit drama “November Story,” in which she co-starred with Pasupathy, GM Kumar, Aruldass, and Vivek Prasanna.
“If done effectively, a thriller may allow you to binge-watch. That is essentially what everyone who creates a program expects you to do. So, if you select a genre like a thriller, if it is done correctly, it has a great possibility of being a binge-watchable program “she claims.
“11th Hour” is available on Aha, while “November Story” is available on Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
Of course, she doesn’t feel compelled to pick between the two mediums. “There is nothing to select between because, in my case, she gets both. She just has a feeling that the fan base one might have collected, say, ten years ago would be difficult for today’s age, since, given the circumstance we’re in as a result of the epidemic, feelings around films are different. The way people see movies will change “Tamannaah spoke to IANS.
“So, the whole concept of a celebrity is shifting very quickly, and people are watching and loving stuff for the substance rather than for an individual actor or particular ability,” she continued.
