Actor Prashant Bajaj, who was seen in the film Jaat and is also part of the upcoming movie Coal King, says that he loves the fact that as an artist, he can play so many different kinds of roles. He adds that this versatility of the profession makes it fun for him to work every day.

“I believe the biggest USP of an actor is the ability to transform and adapt to different characters. The versatility to portray a wide range of emotions and characters while staying true to your craft is something that sets an actor apart. It’s about making each role your own, regardless of the genre, and connecting with the audience in a way that leaves a lasting impact,” he says.

He adds that he gets very comfortable on the sets of his shows or films. “For me, the set is definitely my second home. Spending long hours on set, you learn to make it comfortable. I keep my makeup room cosy and personalized with things that remind me of my family and the things I love. From playing my favourite music to making sure I have my snacks and drinks ready, I have created a routine that helps me stay grounded and comfortable. I also take time to connect with my co-actors, share a laugh, and keep the energy light. Having this routine makes the long hours feel a lot more manageable.”

He adds, “I believe that when you spend so much time with your co-stars, they eventually become like family. On set, we all go through the same experiences, so it creates a bond. I’m lucky to have made some great friends who have become an important part of my life. As for love, I think that’s something personal. While working on set can lead to deep connections, I believe it’s important to keep professional boundaries intact. For me, friendships are the most important aspect of working with such a talented and diverse group of people.”

Ask him if he feels that working in the entertainment industry is the safest option in today’s times, and he says, “The entertainment industry is never about playing it safe—it’s about taking risks, pushing boundaries, and following your passion. No industry, no job, is truly ‘safe.’ The OTT space is exciting, but it’s volatile—one minute, something’s trending, and the next, it’s forgotten. TV, on the other hand, offers stability, especially in a country like India where people still rely on their daily dose of television for entertainment. TV shows, with their long-running nature, give you the chance to build a connection with a large and loyal audience. But at the end of the day, it’s about the work. If you’re doing what you love, regardless of the platform, you’re on the right track.”
