When Kareena Kapoor was carrying her first kid, Taimur Ali Khan, she faced a terrifying last-minute obstacle that she discussed in her book.

Kareena Kapoor talked about her challenging first pregnancy in her published self-help book, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible. Kareena described how she and Saif were “extremely concerned” before the birth in her book. She wanted a “regular delivery,” but due to the situation, the doctors advised a Caesarean birth.

“I was one week away from giving birth, and it was my last scan. It came out that the cord was around Taimur’s neck since he was a huge baby. My OB-GYN was contacted by the sonologist, who said they couldn’t take a chance. I was incredibly afraid and concerned for my unborn child. I truly wanted a normal delivery,” she reportedly stated, according to Pinkvilla.

“But my doctor told me to sit down and that throughout labor I would be pushing, the baby would be pulling, and the chord was fragile,” Kareena continued. “Dr. Feroze, Saif, and I then reached a consensus,” she continued. “I had Taimur via a C-Section 48 hours later, and it was a terrifying experience. I remember being carried in, getting calmed by the nurse, and hearing my anesthesiologist’s supportive remarks. Then everything became hazy.”

However, altogether, Kareena found her second pregnancy to be more challenging. “Compared to Taimur’s pregnancy, which was a breeze, this one was incredibly challenging. I appreciated it and loved it, which gave me the confidence to try it again. However, this was unique. I went through phases where I would sit down and believe that I couldn’t do it and that nothing would turn out alright,” she said.
