Sony Entertainment Television’s India’s Best Dancer is currently the most popular show on the tube. The competition is only getting tougher as the top contestants are presenting their moves to win the coveted trophy. This weekend, India’s Best Dancer will welcome Farah Khan, as the show celebrates Romance special episode. The multi-talented director was enthralled watching all the amazing acts by the contestants on her popular songs.
However, the moment that made Farah super nostalgic was a special tribute by the contestants. After back-to-back outstanding performances, the contestants and choreographers collectively paid a tribute to Geeta Ma and Farah Khan depicting their unique bond of 29 years. They danced on the songs choreographed by Farah Khan while their memories through their old photographs were displayed in the backdrop, making Geeta Ma emotional. A teary-eyed Geeta Kapur said, “I was 16 when I joined Farah Khan and today, I am a proud 47 year old. But, she still treats me like a 16-year-old. She gifted me one of her photos during the initial days. She wrote on the note, ‘To my livewire dancer, with maternal love, Farah Khan’ and she has kept that promise till date. I am always left speechless while complimenting her. I cannot share a mentor like her with anyone except for Czar, Anya and Diva. It is a blessing to have a guru like her who gives you freedom without asking anything in return. She has taught me to be honest to my crew and my team. I have learnt a lot from her.”
Farah Khan said, “Terence said that Acha guru tab banta hai jab ek shishya acha hota hai, and there cannot be a better student than Geeta. She guides her choreographers even better than I do. Till the last year, she came with me as an assistant when we choreographed a song in Sooryavanshi. Geeta came and stayed with the assistants whereas I had booked a room for her in the hotel. She is so down to earth. When Geeta got an offer for her first show as a judge, I scolded her as she did not want to take it up, to which later, she did and that’s how her journey as a judge started. I know I have three children, but Geeta will be my first child.”
