Throwback: When Shahid Kapoor Revealed His Desire To Star In Dingko Singh’s Biopic

Dingko Singh, the award-winning sportsman, and boxer has made our nation proud several times and has inspired so many youngsters with his marvelous career. The award-winning boxer passed away on the 10th of June this year at the age of 42. Many were disheartened by the news of his passing.

Shahid Kapoor who had once talked about starring in the biopic of the boxer was one of the people who took the news hard. He took to Twitter to mourn his loss. He wrote, ‘Padma Shri Dingko Singh was one of the finest boxers, an award-winning sportsperson who’s brought glory to our nation several times. He will always remain a source of inspiration for the young generations. My sincere condolences to his dear ones. May his soul rest in peace.’

Shahid Kapoor wanted to star in boxer Dingko Singh’s biopic as per the Times of India report. The actor had stated that he had the right to Dingko Singh’s story and that it was a movie he wanted to make.

Raja Krishna Menon was supposed to be the director of the movie and he was saddened to learn that the film couldn’t be made while the boxer was still alive. According to a Times of Indian report, he said, “It is unfortunate and terrible. This has come as a shock. I knew he was ill and suffering but I didn’t know it was this bad. He was a wonderful human being and a spiritual person. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make the film before he could have seen it.”
