The Shiva trilogy, by Amish Tripathi, is quite a popular series and was okay to be adapted into a web series. This book series was quite popular in the country and it garnered quite a massive fans base. It even got itself a chance to get an adaptation as well, and the fans have been ecstatic about it ever since they heard the news. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the web series. The Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur was picked to direct the first book’s adaptation. The Immortals of Meluha.
The book was also set for a Hollywood adaptation as well, as per the same India Today report. But, before all of this, almost a decade ago back in 2012, it was the charming Karan Johar who was keen on making The Immortals of Meluha. The director had even acquired the film rights for the novel. Soon after the guessing game began of who would be cast. The director had been determined to have Hrithik Roshan play the role of the main lead, Shiva. On the other hand, he wanted Vidya Balan to be the female lead. Even Kareena Kapoor’s name was also considered for the role. However, Hrithik himself recommended Priyanka Chopra instead.
The plans to adapt never materialized for Karan Johar. However, Shekhar Kapur is on his way to making this come true. There aren’t a lot of details about Shekhar’s directorial ventures, however. What do you think of Hrithik playing the role of Shiva? Let us know in the comments below!
