While speaking to Rytasha Rathore on her own BBC podcast, Kalki Koechlin said how It’s been frustrating every time she was stereotyped in her roles in her movies. The entire podcast episode further dealt with issues like body shaming, trolling and more.
Rytasha who made her debut with Badho Bahu complained about how she’s been immediately got labelled as a fat girl. To this, Kalki said, “I can kind of relate to being the sidekick, the best friend who is funny but annoying or just somebody who is not very likeable or a home-breaker or ready to mess up the plot. It has been frustrating.”
She added, “I remember a director once approached me for a role saying ‘you are going to love this role because it is about a psycho. You know she is like drinking and really messed up in the head…’ So yes, I relate to being stereotyped.” As quoted by Hindustan Times.
Kalki Koechlin is currently prepped up for her upcoming Gold Fish, where she is going co-star alongside the gorgeous and very finest, Deepti Navel, Gordon Warnecke, and Bharti Patel in the leading roles. The film has been aired on 2022 Busan Film Festival.
