Karisma Kapoor appeared in the show Indian Idol 12 as a special guest and was caught cherishing some amazing song numbers from her films. With that, the actress also shared an intriguing tale from her classic hit “Dil Toh Pagal Hai”, where she featured along with Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit.
Spilling the beans, she said she almost rejected the film after knowing that she is going to compete with Madhuri Dixit. The actress was being reluctant to contend with Madhuri Dixit in the film. However, it was Babita, Karisma’s mother who urged her to take the role!
As quoted by India Today, the actress said, “Every single heroine refused the film (Dil To Pagal Hai). The role came to me…it was a dance film and that too to work with opposite Madhuri Dixit. Everyone said, ‘No how can we dance alongside Madhuri Dixit Ji.’ Initially, I too said no to it as it was a dance film and competition dance with Madhuri Dixit. I said, ‘This isn’t happening.”
She added, “Then finally, Yash Ji and Adi (Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra) narrated the story to me. My mother told me, ‘You must take up the challenge. You are a big fan of Madhuri Dixit, you must do it. You work hard and you will shine.”
