Know the Indian actors who enjoyed early recognition in the industry before their glittering destinies were wrecked

Thousands of budding actors have had the prospect to try their luck in front of the camera owing to Bollywood, which has also spawned some irreplaceable brilliance for Hindi cinephiles. However, while we have witnessed many of these talent houses bragging loaded pistons at the very first screening, they ultimately struggle to keep the momentum and fade into oblivion. Here are such Indian actors who enjoyed early glory in the industry before their glittering destinies were wrecked.

Ameesha Patel

She made her acting debut in the film Kaho Naa Payar Hai alongside Hrithik Roshan, which was favourably welcomed by both critics and the audience. Later to that, the actress eventually earned recognition with her performance in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. However, the actress failed to keep up with her ‘goodwill’ in the industry in later years. With severe ups and downs in her career graph, Ameesha failed to preserve her stardom in the industry.

Zayed Khan

Back in 2003 Zayed Khan debuted with “Chura Liya Hai Tumne” opposite Esha Deol. However, the film did struggle to score well at the box office. Over the course of his 12-plus year Bollywood career, Zayed has primarily produced flops. The only triumphant film to bear his name is “Main Hoon Naa,” which starred Shahrukh Khan and Sushmita Sen alongside. In 2015 Zayed finally made the decision to take a break from acting after a string of disappointing movies and mediocre performances.

Fardeen Khan

Fardeen Khan, Feroz Khan’s son debuted with the film Prem Aggan in the 1990s. The film garnered immense love and praise from the audience. Fardeen also received the Filmfare Award for Best Debut. However, later to that, the actor was featured in several other movies but they didn’t work. After delivering unintended yet countless flops, Fardeen Khan took a break from films.

Lara Dutta

The former Miss Universe debuted in Bollywood with the film “Andaaz” succinctly after having won the contest. Despite receiving a few roles, none of them was very successful at the box office. Additionally, she was unable to participate in films that were popular amongst audiences. Later she launched her own production house named ‘Daddy Productions’. She also produced the film Chalo Dilli, which received favourable reviews but did poorly at the box office. However, very recently with OTT’s takeover, Lara Dutta got the chance to impress the audience with her work in Bell Bottom, and undoubtedly it was a worthy call.

Zarine Khan

Known as Katrina Kaif’s lookalike, however, Zarine Khan failed to earn the ‘renown’ that Katrina Kaif. Despite being so enchanting, Zarine Khan is seen as a failure as an actor in Bollywood. Salman Khan gave her a big break with the hit film “Veer.” She made a valiant effort to perform her magic onscreen, but she utterly failed. She has appeared in a number of expensive films like Housefull 2, and Hate Story 3, but none of them marked well at the box office.

Tusshar Kapoor

Tusshar Kapoor, son of the Bollywood superstar back from the days, Jeetendra couldn’t succeed well in his film career. Even though he delivered amazingly honed performances on the screen with his movies like Shor In The City, also having his performance in the movie Golmaal has also been thoroughly admired by the netizens, Tusshar Kapoor yet failed to grip on the ‘superstardom’ as an actor in Bollywood.

Uday Chopra

Uday Chopra sparked soon after his debut in the movie Mohabbatein back in 2000. Starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and other amazing actors from the industry, the actor garnered his due recognition from the movie, given his performance. Later to this, the actor continued to be part of films under the Yash Chopra banner, however, the audience didn’t really like him much on the screen, despite his whetted acting chops.

Imran Khan

We still miss Rats from Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa. Despite getting an admiring response from the audience, somehow, Imran Khan faded away from the limelight with time. Just not JTYJN but his classic performance in the award-winning film Delhi Belly too showed us a ray of light. However, he left Bollywood because he found the industry ‘suffocating’.

Kumar Gaurav

With his adorably chocolaty boy looks, Kumar Gaurav thrived with his chops in the movie Janam, helmed by Mahesh Bhatt. Later to this, he acted in many more films, but unfortunately, they shattered at the box office. And when his career kept failing, he gave it a fresh start to stay back with the film Kaante, but yet his countless flops overshadowed and he left the industry thereafter.

Rahul Roy

Aashiqui’s release on movie screens in 1990 resulted in Rahul Roy’s overnight fame all across the country. People had high expectations for the movie’s key actors, notably Rahul Roy, whose acting chops looked promising on the screen. However, he failed to persist in his outstanding work, though, and thereon disappeared from the sight of the netizens.
