With Ajay Devgn returning as the unstoppable Bajirao Singham, this film is crafted for fans of high-octane thrills, patriotic fervour, and unapologetic masala cinema.

From the get-go, Singham Again is loud, larger-than-life, and perfectly in line with Shetty’s signature style.

Every punch, chase, and explosion are calculated to keep you entertained, and Devgn is in peak form, embodying the fearless, justice-driven Singham with a fierce intensity that makes his heroics as enjoyable as ever. Watching Singham storm through the baddies is still a delight, and Devgn wears the role with the effortless ease of a pro. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s return as Singham’s love interest adds a touch of warmth and familiarity, and their chemistry, even in brief moments, gives the action-packed plot some softer, human notes.

One of the film’s biggest flexes is its parade of star cameos. Joining the action are Bollywood A-listers Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff. They make the best of their appearances, infusing the film with their distinct flair and energy. Akshay, as Sooryavanshi, brings his signature mix of charm and grit, while Ranveer and Deepika are electric on screen. Tiger Shroff adds an extra dose of adrenaline. Each cameo is pure fan service, and while it’s thrilling to see so many big names in one movie, the revolving door of stars sometimes disrupts the storytelling. At points, Singham Again feels more like a Bollywood cameo showcase than a cohesive narrative. And we don’t want to play major spoiler for the movie which is a special Diwali treat.

Shetty’s staple action sequences, though, are the film’s true show-stoppers. Car chases, hand-to-hand brawls, and epic explosions make every frame pulse with energy. The choreography is meticulously over-the-top, with Singham leaping, crashing, and smashing through enemies in a way that only Shetty could envision. The climactic sequences are especially thrilling, packed with some of the most intense stunts and explosions we’ve seen in the franchise. The finale is a grand spectacle designed to bring the audience to their feet, filled with jaw-dropping moments and larger-than-life set pieces.

However, it’s in the story where Singham Again could’ve done a bit more. The plot sticks to familiar territory, with predictable twists and standard-issue villains. The screenplay has all the trappings of a Shetty film—catchy one-liners, loud confrontations, and unapologetic bravado—but occasionally veers into formulaic territory. And Shetty makes a bold choice to add mythological elements inspired by Ramayana.

Dialogue is another mixed bag here.

While Singham’s classic lines still pack a punch, a few exchanges feel overly cliched, leaning into the hyper-patriotic vein a bit too much. There’s also a reliance on heavy-handed messaging, which, while undoubtedly crowd-pleasing, may feel repetitive for some viewers. But then again, this film isn’t meant to be subtle; it’s meant to be a crowd-puller, and Shetty succeeds in creating exactly that.

Well, Singham Again is a classic Rohit Shetty’s.

It’s not a film you watch for nuanced storytelling or layered character development. It’s pure, unfiltered escapism crafted to entertain you from start to finish. If you love a film that takes you on a ride, leaving no stone unturned in delivering jaw-dropping stunts, glamorous cameos, and heart-pumping action, then Singham Again is your perfect Diwali blockbuster. Sure, it has its share of flaws and sometimes feels like a checklist of Bollywood tropes, but it’s also wildly fun, and in true Shetty style, it’s a larger-than-life experience.

A Worthy Sequel?

Singham Again is here to do what it does best—entertain, thrill, and make you cheer for the good guy, one epic showdown at a time. If you’re in the mood for a film that celebrates heroism, patriotism, and pure adrenaline, then this one’s a must-watch.

IWMBuzz rates it 4 stars.
