Alia Bhatt: This lady is certainly in that phase of her professional career where anything and everything that she touches seems to turn into gold for her. 2022 was her best year indeed. Not just professionally with back-to-back successful movies like RRR, Darlings, and Gangubai, she also started a new journey in her personal life with none other than her dear partner, Ranbir Kapoor. The two of them got married and also are blessed to be parents of an adorable baby girl whom they have named Raha. Well, lady luck is certainly shining bright for Alia Bhatt and how.
Kiara Advani: If there’s one actress who’s literally grown to a tremendous extent in terms of professional stature and popularity in the last four years, it is Kiara Advani. Before the success of Kabir Singh in 2019, things were entirely different for her. However, ever since then, she’s been truly living a dream life and how. After her stupendous work in Shershah in 2021, she continued the good work in 2022 as well with movies like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Govinda Naam Mera and well, all her performances were ‘seeti maar’ indeed. Tamannaah Bhatia: She was just 15 years old when she dreamt of becoming an actress in the Indian entertainment industry. From starting off as a model in music videos to eventually becoming one of the finest celebrities in the South regional entertainment industry, Tamannaah Bhatia has indeed come a long way forward professionally. Not just the South, 2022 was all about Tamannaah showing her class in Hindi projects as well. She starred in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Babli Bouncer and Netflix’s ‘Plan A Plan B’ and both projects helped her earn the critical acclaim that she deserved. With 2022 ending on a high, here’s hoping she comes out with flying colours nicely in 2023 as well.
Rakul Preet Singh: She’s right now living a journey of her own and climbing the ladder of success higher daily with every passing day. Just when you feel that she might have shown all her versatility, she comes up with a special twist. The year 2022 was incredibly special for Rakul as she had multiple releases in the form of Doctor G, Oh My God, Runway 34, and Cuttputlli. Amidst all the movies, the project that she got most appreciated for was ‘Doctor G’ and rightfully so. The year 2023 too looks promising for her with movies like ‘Chhatriwali’ and other projects and we are confident she will continue making her audience feel proud of her.
Janhvi Kapoor: She’s perhaps the only ‘starkid’ in the country right now who’s trying to go beyond her regular ways to leave a mark with her acting and performance. Being legendary Sridevi’s daughter, comparisons were always going to haunt her anyway. But the best thing for which she deserves appreciation is that she’s trying to come out of her comfort zone and take roles that her significant. As far as her choices in 2022 were concerned, both Good Luck Jerry and Mili were clear examples of that. While one was an OTT release, the other was released in cinemas. Both of them helped her earn tremendous recognition as an actress and she thoroughly deserves every bit of it.
Tabu: She’s like that fine wine who only gets better with time and age. As effortless as she’s always been on-screen, Tabu’s captivating performances in movies like Drishyam 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in 2022 brought her to this special list. It is to be noted that both the movies are indeed quite different from each other and hence, to switch between sets and then deliver performances like this is quite a wonderful task indeed. Here’s hoping we get to see more of her in 2023 this year.
Kriti Sanon: Last but certainly not least, we have Kriti Sanon on our list who certainly deserves a mention for her impactful role in Bhediya. Yes, it’s true that barring Bhediya, her other project Bachchhan Paandey was quite a forgettable experience, her brave choice in Bhediya in itself was enough to feature in the list. This can certainly be taken as a nice continuation from where she left last year with ‘Mimi’. And now in 2023, we are set to see her have multiple releases and it’s none other than ‘Shehzada’ alongside Kartik Aaryan to begin with. Exciting times ahead indeed, right?
