Everyone has been and continues to wait, and even hope for the sequel of Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na – a film that is iconic even today and recently completed 16 years and had a virtual message for the fans from the actors, who were a part of the film. The sequel to the film might or might never happen. Still, it seems like the producer of the film and superstar, Aamir Khan was pitched with the idea for the film’s sequel by none other than the director of the original movie, Abbas Tyrewala. However, that was immediately ridiculed by Khan, and after the director told why, it seems rightfully so.
After appearing on a recent podcast with Cyrus Brocha, Tyrewala was extremely candid about the film’s legacy and shared an unknown anecdote. Firstly, on a lighter note, Tyrewala said that if ever there is a sequel to the 2008 film. how can it not be called ‘Jaane 2’, it just has to be.
After laughing about it, Tyrewala opened up about how he did have an idea about the sequel of the film which he took to Aamir Khan and pitched him with that as well. He mentioned that his base idea was about how Jai (Imran Khan) and Aditi (Genelia Dsouza) are now separated and Jai even has an affair with Meghna (Manajri Fadnnis). then the story goes on.
After listening to it, Tyrewala said that if the sequel does happen at all, you will never be directing it. You directed the one film and that’s great but with this idea, it will never happen.
As known, Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na is one of the most popular and iconic films of all time and is still remembered immensely.
