Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan has become the target of a recent death threat, prompting an immediate response from Mumbai Police. The threat reportedly came from an individual identified as Faizan from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, who allegedly contacted Bandra Police Station, demanding Rs 50 lakh from the actor. In response, authorities quickly registered a case under Sections 506(4) and 511 of the Indian Penal Code, addressing the threat and the attempt to commit a related offense.
Following the report, a police team was dispatched to Raipur to trace and investigate the source of the call. Although no arrests have been made yet, police are working actively to follow up on the lead and ensure Khan’s safety.
This incident adds to the string of threats Khan has faced in recent times. After the blockbuster success of his films Pathaan and Jawan in 2023, Khan was reportedly subjected to other death threats. In response to these, he was provided with Y+ security in October 2023, which includes tight surveillance and personal security guards who now accompany him in public settings. Recently, the actor even avoided his traditional birthday greeting to fans outside his home, Mannat, which was speculated to be due to ongoing security concerns. However, his team has not officially commented on the latest threat.
Mumbai Police are taking the threat seriously, especially as it comes on the heels of threats made toward other figures associated with the film industry. Baba Siddiqui, a close associate of Khan, and actor Salman Khan have also recently been targeted with similar threats, leading police to intensify security measures. The investigation into this latest incident is ongoing, and authorities are actively seeking to apprehend the suspect while monitoring the safety of those involved. Further updates from Mumbai Police are awaited as the case unfolds.
