Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 is setting box office on fire. It’s been three days since its release and the film has managed to mark over 230 crores at the box office. And as of now, the film is said to reach 250 crores worldwide. The film stars Aishwarya Rai, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Trisha and Jayam Ravi in the leading roles.
The film, directed by Mani Ratnam is said to be an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s five part book in the same name as of the film. The film also hits a massive music creation by the legendary A R Rahman. The cinematography features amazing work on board with Ravi Varman’s ardent cinematography.
Earlier trade analyst Ramesh Bala said, on his official Twitter handle, “#PS1 record opening in @imax screens WW..At the International (Excluding North America) – All-time No.1 Opening for an Indian movie including UK, Singapore and Malaysia. All-time No.3 opening for an Indian movie in USA & WW Imax. All-time No.4 in India IMAX (sic).”
Speaking of the grand boxoffice opening in just three days, Bala tweeted, “For the 3-day opening weekend, #PS1 has grossed more than 230 Crs+ at the WW Box office (sic).” The film was released on 30th September 2022.
