Actor Ajay Devgn is usually associated with action films over the years – that’s now news. That, however as a belief was broken with his comedy turn in films like Golmaal, All The Best and more.
What changed for Devgn after that is that he wasn’t just doing action movies per se and mixing things up with suspense thrillers, unique dramas and lately, even supernatural horror.
But just like you put Akshay Kumar and action in the same bracket, you can put Devgn and action in the same bracket as well. Which seems to be the case as Devgn, for the first time in his career has officially gotten moniker in the form of ‘Action Star’ as his new film was announced called ‘Naam’ which will be directed by Anees Bazmee.
It’s a shift for Bazmee as well who did Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (up for release) back-to-back – now venturing into action.
Many suggest how there is no one better in the Hindi belt than Devgn who deservedly gets the title of being called an ‘Action Star’. He seems at his comfortable best and at ease with the high-octane action that he performs with a certain swagger and presence.
A few also suggest that given his versatility at display now, just reducing to calling him an action star isn’t justifiable enough to suffice his overall talent. Nevertheless, getting a moniker is a common occurrence down South but now that we have our own ‘Action Star’ Ajay Devgn, we are sure the fans aren’t complaining and neither are we.
Naam is another film to the long list of upcoming films for Devgn which include Raid 2, Son of Sardaar 2, forthcoming Shaitaan 2 and De De Pyaar De 2 just as Singham Again is releasing next week. Interestingly, Singham Again clashes with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, an Anees Bazmee film.
