A big update coming in for all who have been closely following Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s case.
Earlier, after many rounds of trials and proceedings, the jury finally reached a conclusion in the case and found Amber Heard guilty of defaming Johnny Depp. On the other hand, Depp too was found liable for a statement that his attorney made claiming Heard’s claims as hoax. As far as damages is concerned, Depp was offered $15M whereas Amber was given $2M as countersuit.
And now, guess what’s the latest update folks? As per reports in India Today, Amber Heard must pay Johnny Depp $10M for damaging his reputation, according to official orders. The former couple’s lawyers failed to agree to a settlement, paving the way for a costly appeals process. Reports further reveal that during Friday’s hearing, the judge remarked that if if Heard appeals, she must make way for a bond for the entire amount of the $10.35 million award while the appeal is pending as it is a common practice. The judge’s order says both awards are subject to 6% interest per year.
