According to sources close to the development, Mani Ratnam has been searching for a suitable storyline to feature the couple, known for their iconic on-screen pairing. “Mani Sir has finally found the right subject to work with Abhishek and Aishwarya again,” a source shared with Zoom.
The actors have previously collaborated with Mani Ratnam on two projects together: Guru (2007) and Raavan (2010). Individually, Abhishek has worked with the director in Yuva (2004), while Aishwarya was recently seen in Ratnam’s Tamil magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan series (PS-1 in 2022 and PS-2 in 2023). The news of another collaboration has stirred excitement among fans, especially given the couple’s past successful ventures with the acclaimed director.
