When it comes to the game of cricket, it is usually said that it’s a batsman’s game. And now, with batsmen-friendly formats like T-20 cricket, the game is slowly turning into a nightmare for the bowlers. Very few bowlers have actually managed to live up to their legacy despite the coming in of the T-20 format. One such bowler who surely makes it to this limited list of bowlers is Sri Lankan spin maestro, Muttiah Muralitharan.
Having been a force to reckon with, Muralitharan has been a batsman’s worst dream ever. He was simply unplayable on wickets that had an element of turn for the spinners. Just a little bit of dryness on the pitch, and add to that, a few roughs on the surface, and that was more than enough for Murali to shatter the dreams of batsmen. He is the only bowler in the history of World Cricket to have touched the magical number of 800 wickets in Test Cricket, a feat almost next to impossible to better in today’s time of T-20 craze.
And as per latest reports, the cricketer is all set to have a biopic being made on him. Playing Muralitharan will be Vijay Sethupathi, who is all confident and excited to be essaying the role of the Sri Lankan spin legend. At the helm of things will be M.S Sripathy. The project will be produced by Suresh Productions and co-produced by Dar Media Pvt Ltd.
