While earlier we knew that Will Smith was the one who turned down the film offered the role of Neo, later played by Keanu Reeves, but now it’s not Smith who rejected the film, but Madonna too who was almost a part of the film but rejected.

However, later she rejected it saying, “I regret that I turned down Catwoman. That was pretty fierce… I also turned down the role in The Matrix – can you believe that? I wanted to kill myself,”

She added, “That’s like one of the best movies ever made. A teeny tiny part of me regrets just that one moment in my life.” As quoted by Koi Moi.
