Posthumous releases of superstars don’t always work. India’s biggest superstar Rajesh Khanna’s posthumous release Riyasat was a disaster. And the great Nutan’s last film Garajna , wasn’t even released.
It is a different ballgame with Sushant’s farewell film Dil Bechara. The trailer has engendered an enormous emotional response in his fans. They are weeping and celebrating his last film even before its release. As film critic Bharati S Pradhan says, “The trailer of Dil Bechara tugs at your heartstrings and leaves you teary-eyed.”
Trade guru Taran Adarsh analyzes, “The trailer of Dil Bechara works for various reasons. It’s beautiful, heartwarming and has moments and dialogue that demand repeat viewings… it wins you over completely… the most important reason is, without doubt, Sushant Singh Rajput… I had moist eyes while watching him… The fact that Dil Bechara will be Sushant’s last film release is heartbreaking… this film is very very very special.”
Trade analyst Girish Johar gets emotional while discussing the trailer of Dil Bechara. “It pains my heart to see Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film’s trailer.I never could have imagined…and even till now can’t believe that he isn’t amongst us anymore. And the response to the trailer is superb…every one has truly loved it…its the official remake of FAULT IN OUR STARS…so the audiences have lapped it up with not only open arms but with their hearts too. Would have been a great tribute had the film also released on cinema screens for a wider audience to pay their respects”
Trade analyst Atul Mohan adds, “It’s more of an emotional event for all than a routine trailer release. It is SSR’s last film and all are waiting for it. The overwhelming response to the trailer has already given us an indication of what records it’s going to create on its premiere. Looking at the trailer we still can’t believe that this smiling face is not amongst us anymore.”
Actor Manoj Bajpai says, “I wished Mukesh Chabra all the luck as it’s his debut as a director. I understand the emotions he is going through. I want the audience to watch this film and make it a memorable tribute to our boy who is no more with us!!”
