Diljit Dosanjh Revisits The 1984 Sikh Riots A Second Time In Film That Premieres On Netflix Next Month

Diljit Dosanjh headlines the cast of Ali s Zafar’s Jogi. Dosanjh stars as a victim of the 1984 Sikh riots in Delhi .

Dosanjh was born in 1984. He was a baby when the anti- SIKH riots happened. But he heard the elders of the family talking about it. Produced by Ali Abbas Zafar Jogi was shot in Punjab and Delhi.

Interestingly Diljit has already done a film on the 1984 riots. Entitled 1984 it was a film directed by Anurag Singh which Diljit is really proud of. 1984 was in Punjabi and set in rural Punjab. Jogi is set in Delhi in the midst of the riots

Diljit wants to prove himself as a serious dramatic actor. He did two back-to-back comedies Good Newzz and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari. Jogi gives him a chance to address a serious issue.

Says Diljit, “Playing the role of Jogi has been one of the most fulfilling experiences and I am excited for my digital debut on Netflix. The entire team has worked really hard to bring to life this beautiful story .I am looking forward to audiences watching our film and showing their love.”

Jogi stars Diljit Dosanjh, Kumud Mishra, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, Hiten Tejwani and Amyra Dastur.It will premiere exclusively on Netflix 16th September, 2022.
