Early this morning, actor and politician Govinda was rushed to CRITICare Hospital in Mumbai after accidentally shooting himself in the leg. The incident occurred around 4:45 AM while Govinda was inspecting his licensed revolver before leaving for a flight to Kolkata. Reports indicate that the firearm misfired, and the bullet struck his knee, prompting immediate medical care.

Govinda was admitted to the hospital at 5:15 AM, and according to hospital sources, he is now in stable condition and out of danger. Authorities have since taken possession of the revolver, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the mishap.

Shashi Sinha, Govinda’s manager, explained to ANI that the actor was placing the revolver in its case when it slipped from his hand, causing the gun to fire accidentally. The bullet has been successfully removed by doctors, and Govinda is currently recovering in the hospital.

For the uninitiated, Govinda is one of the most-loved superstars in the Hindi film industry over the years, where he is best remembered for his comic timing and dance skills. His films with director David Dhawan have managed to carve a legacy for himself.

Over the recent years, Govinda has struggled to get a film and the ones he have done have been huge box-office bombs.

After 2007, Govinda has struggled to deliver another box office hit. He appeared in 13 films following Partner, but all of them, including low-budget projects like Rangeela Raja, failed to perform commercially.
