For the uninitiated, Govinda experienced an unfortunate accident on the morning of October 1, 2024, when his licensed revolver discharged accidentally at his residence in Juhu, Mumbai. The incident occurred as Govinda was placing the firearm in his cupboard, and it slipped from his hand, causing a bullet to strike his leg. He was immediately taken to CritiCare Hospital, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. Now, thanks to him coming out and addressing the media himself, it can be certain that his condition is stable, and he is now on the road to recovery.

At the time of the incident, his wife Sunita was out of town, though she quickly returned to Mumbai upon hearing the news. His daughter, Tina, and close family members have been present by his side.

The Mumbai Police are investigating the situation, but no formal complaints have been filed. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached out to Govinda to inquire about his health and ensure he received the necessary medical attention.
